Female student sexually assaulted on Lee University campus Sunday

A female student was sexually assaulted on Lee University's campus Sunday afternoon, the university confirmed.

The woman was working in a ceramics classroom in the Mayfield Annex when an unknown male approached her with a knife and demanded sexual activity, according to an email sent to students.

The email was sent to students Sunday night in compliance with the Clery Act to inform them of the assault.

The victim is working with campus and local police to identify the suspect.

Authorities ask anyone who observes any suspicious activity to report it to Campus Security 423-303.4444 or the Cleveland Police Department at 423-476-7511.
