BROOKHAVEN, Ga. (AP) - Georgia State Police say a man chasing after a commuter bus got caught under its rear tire and died.

WAGA-TV reports troopers say the man ran across a highway in Brookhaven in an attempt to catch a Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority bus early Thursday. They say witnesses report the man started banging on the rear driver's side of the bus.

They say he was then caught under the bus, which stopped and waited for responding authorities. Police say no charges are expected to be filed against the driver. Authorities haven't released the man's identity. Troopers say alcohol was found at the scene and may have been a factor.

That section of Buford Highway was closed for hours in both directions.
