Hamilton County Sheriff's Office deputies have taken two people into custody after a pursuit on Suck Creek Road Monday evening, according to an HCSO release.

At around 7:40 p.m., officers saw a vehicle moving erratically and recognized the male driver, who was wanted for several charges in Marion County. An officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused, so a pursuit began.

Deputies believed the man was impaired and "conducted an intervention" to force the vehicle to stop. The man then fled into the woods and the female passenger was arrested without incident, according to the release.

Drug paraphernalia was found in the vehicle, and the male driver was taken to a local hospital for medical review. He faces several charges, including two counts of felony evading, the release states.

The female passenger was identified as the owner of the vehicle and faces a DUI charge. The incident is currently under investigation, according to the release.
