Chattanooga police say a pedestrian was killed on Lee Highway Monday night.
A woman driving south on Lee Highway about 8:50 p.m. saw a shoe in the center turning lane and a body in the ditch.
She reported the incident and authorities confirmed the victim was deceased.
The victim's fanny pack and do-rag were also found in the middle of the south bound travel lane.
Authorities believe the victim was walking on Lee Highway and was struck by an unknown vehicle that fled the scene.
The crash is still under investigation.
