Tuesday's scheduled doubleheader between the Chattanooga Lookouts and the Montgomery Biscuits at AT&T Field was canceled due to a "tragic event within the Biscuits family."

"Our thoughts are with the entire Tampa Bay Rays and Montgomery Biscuits organizations at this time," Lookouts president and general manager Rich Mozingo said in a release. "We want to express our deepest condolences and sympathies to the Biscuits family."

ESPN's Jeff Passan reported Tuesday night that the wife and child of Montgomery pitcher Blake Bivens were among three people killed in rural Virginia. Police have charged Bivens' wife's brother with first-degree homicide.

Tuesday's cancellation results in the conclusion of Chattanooga's home schedule for the 2019 season. The Lookouts are off today before closing the year with a five-game series at Mississippi.

Chattanooga had 65 home openings this season and averaged 3,516 fans, its highest average since 3,522 in 2012.
