The Dade County Sheriff's Office and Trenton Police Department are investigating the trading of sexually explicit photos at Dade County High School.

Law enforcement officials held a press conference Thursday where Dade County Sheriff Ray Cross and Trenton Police Chief Christy Smith said that as many as 50 adults and minors may be victims of a group of people trading sexually explicit photos.

The number of victims came from search warrants that were issued.

Cross and Smith said Thursday that they are working with Dade County High School and others to identify victims.

The photos are of both adults and minors, Cross said.

A task force made up of local, state and federal officers has been organized and the group is currently working the case.

Dade County Schools Superintendent Dr. Jan Harris declined to comment and has been advised that all questions must go through the sheriff's department.

People with knowledge of the nude photos are encouraged to contact law enforcement at 706-657-3233.
