Grundy County Sheriff Clint Shrum confirmed Sunday afternoon that a man was killed in a shooting Saturday night and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is now assisting in the probe at the request of local authorities.
Shrum identified the victim as 37-year-old Bradford Orion Meeks.
The sheriff said he could give no further details.
The shooting happened shortly sometime around midnight Saturday or very early Sunday on Lockhart Town Road in Coalmont, according to an account in the Grundy County Herald newspaper in Tracy City.
