An adult and four children were displaced after a fire Saturday evening.
The incident occurred in the 2800 block of S Hawthorne Street, and while firefighters say they had the fire extinguished within 15 minutes of arrival, there was still an estimated $40,000 in damage, according to a release from the Chattanooga Fire Department.
There were no injuries. All involved had evacuated before firefighters arrived.
The Red Cross is providing assistance.
