One lane of U.S. Highway 68 over Watts Bar Dam near Spring City, Tennessee, will be closed Tuesday.
The southbound lane will close at 9:30 a.m. and will reopen no later than 3:30 p.m. to allow for the bridge to undergo a routine inspection, according to a news release from TVA.
Law enforcement officers will be on hand to direct traffic, but motorists should expect delays.
"Bridge inspections are a necessary part of ensuring these pieces of vital transportation infrastructure continue to operate safely," the news release states. "We apologize for this temporary inconvenience of visitors to Watts Bar Dam."
