One person dead in Tuesday morning shooting on Pinewood Avenue

Police were called to the scene at about 2:31 a.m. and found a person trying to aid the victim. The victim died and the family is being notified. Police have requested video surveillance footage from apartment's management, and they are cooperating.
A shooting in the 3300 block of Pinewood Avenue has left one person dead, according to Chattanooga police.
Police were called to the scene at about 2:31 a.m. Tuesday and found a person trying to aid a man who had been shot while trying to get out of a vehicle, according to a news release.
The victim, 37-year-old Joel Ervin, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have requested video surveillance footage from apartment's management and they are cooperating.
