The annual Bonnaroo Clean Up Sale begins Wednesday at The Gear Closet on Riverside Drive.

The sale features a tractor trailer load of tarps, chairs, tents, canopies, coolers, sleeping bags, air mattresses and more.

A group with the used outdoors gear outfitter travels to Manchester, Tennessee as concert-goers leave the festival grounds. They load up the gear left behind and take it to the store to sell. US Xpress donated the trailer used for the project.

The Gear Closet is a fundraising effort from the revamped non-profit WaterWays. It opened in 2012. The non-profit group has worked with locals to teach the importance of water quality, gotten grants to work with local groups, led cleanup efforts at area creeks and helped businesses conduct more environmentally sound practices. They also do more extensive work in the Caribbean.

The sale takes place every day the Gear Closet is open until it sells out. Hours are Wednesday through Saturday from noon-6 p.m. and Sunday from 1-6 p.m.
