Chattanooga area attractions offer special deals for Hurricane Dorian evacuees

Chattanooga area attractions are offering special rates for Hurricane Dorian evacuees.

Tennessee Aquarium

The Tennessee Aquarium is offering half-price tickets to the aquarium and the IMAX theater for evacuees from Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas.

The offer is available through Friday.

Residents will need to present a driver's license at the ticketing center.

"Our hearts are with everyone who will be affected by Hurricane Dorian," aquarium officials said in a Facebook post.

Hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. daily. The aquarium is located in downtown Chattanooga at 1 Broad St.

Candlelight Forest

The Candlelight Forest in Chickamauga, Georgia, is offering free day passes for evacuees this weekend.

The property offers fishing, paddle boarding and canoeing, as well as hiking and walking trails. Visitors can also visit with the resident pygmy goats or play in a treehouse.

Hours are 9 a.m.-4 p.m. this Friday and Saturday. The forest is located at 9863 GA-193 in Chickamauga.
