EPB warning customers of scam calls

EPB is alerting the public that some customers have reported receiving spam calls seeking money.

In a statement Friday, the company said the robo calls demand immediate payment for electric/fiber bills to avoid disconnection of service. Many of the spam calls have an 888 area code, the release states.

The company says real EPB calls will have a 423 area code and that the company will never seek payment in a message such as the one circulating.
