OPELIKA, Ala. (AP) -- A 28-year-old Alabama man has been charged with murder in a weekend stabbing in Lee County.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office said Monday that Taylor Rhea Sanders of Opelika was arrested in connection with the slaying. He was jailed on a $150,000 bond, al.com reported.

Deputies responding to a call in the Beauregard community Saturday found 30-year-old Joel Lynn Pouncey of Cusseta dead from an apparent stab wound to his chest, the sheriff's office said. Investigators recovered a knife at the scene.

Authorities have not released a possible motive behind the slaying. It was not immediately known if Sanders had an attorney to represent him.
