MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) -- A man accused of molesting two girls in Georgia was extradited back to the state from Mexico, more than four years after authorities issued a warrant for his arrest.

Moises Bernal Ramirez was handed over to Cobb County deputies at an Atlanta airport last Wednesday, news outlets reported. He was transferred over to deputies about four months after U.S. Marshals and Mexican police captured him in Mexico, Cobb County Sheriff Neil Warren said in a Facebook post.

Warren said Ramirez was captured after investigators received Information about his residence in Temixco, a city nearly 63 miles south of Mexico City.

An arrest warrant issued for his arrest in February 2016 said Ramirez began molesting two children, aged 11 and 4, inside a Marietta apartment in 2005. According to the warrant, Ramirez first molested the older child and threatened to molest the 4-year-old child if the child told people about the alleged abuse.

The warrant said the older child was molested from 2005 to 2006 and the 4-year-old child was abused from 2005 and 2011.

Ramirez, 67, was booked into the Cobb County jail without bond, records show. Sheriff Warren said he is awaiting trial for child molestation charges.
