The Chattanooga Technology Council will announce today at the Technology Transfer Conference the appointment of Ronna-Renee Jackson as its interim executive director.

Jackson will continue to helm the Southeast Tennessee STEM Initiative, which won a state grant to establish a science, technology, engineering and math-focused school in Hamilton County.

As part of her part-time role at the Technology Council, she will work to coordinate the organization's outreach and advise the board.

Jackson previously served as assistant vice president at Unum's application development department, and worked at IBM as the company's global program manager.

In 2010, she was honored as a finalist by the Chattanooga-area Chamber of Commerce as one of the city's top female community leaders.

Jackson succeeds Robert Philips, who raised the profile of the Tech Council through radio shows, social media integration and partnerships with other area organizations.
