Empower Chattanooga, a new initiative by GreenSpaces, will host an "Empower Basic Energy Workshop," noon-1 p.m., Saturday, at the Avondale Recreation Center, 1305 Dodson Ave.
Residents from East Chattanooga neighborhoods are invited to attend. The session will use workshops to focus on low- and no-cost ways to reduce energy bills. Lunch will be provided.
GreenSpaces is also recruiting volunteers to pick up trash in the neighborhood during "Clean and Green" on April 25.
