HHM Certified Public Accountants has hired four employees in the Chattanooga office, including three staff accountants and an administrative assistant.

HHM's newest staff accountants are Chandler Goodwin, Chris van der Merwe, and Austin Sams. Goodwin and Sams join the Dealership Services Group while van der Merwe joins the Management Advisory Services Group. Jenna Thomasson joins the firm as an administrative assistant.

"As a growing CPA firm, we are always looking to attract and retain talented individuals," said Donnie Hutcherson, managing partner of HHM CPAs. "Our latest hires are an example of our continued effort to invest in talented people."

 

Five Star Food Service adds Jeff Lyons, Herb Modesitt

Canteen franchise Five Star Food Service has hired Jeff Lyons as director of national accounts and Herb Modesitt as director of office coffee sales to bolster its sales team lead by Pat Barger.

Lyons worked for the past 17 years with Aramark as a national account manager.

After a brief stint outside of the industry, Modesitt returns to join Five Star. He is a 28-year coffee service industry veteran serving in sales and leadership roles at Aramark, Filterfresh, and Royal Cup respectively.

 

Benjamin F. Edwards & Co. honors Ward Petty

Ward Petty, a managing director of investments at the Chattanooga office of Benjamin F. Edwards & Co., was recently honored with the Benjamin F. Edwards, III Memorial Award in recognition of his service to clients and his commitment to the firm.

"Ward leads by example in our office and is deserving of this honor," said Marty Altenberger, Edwards' director of branches. "He is dedicated to his clients and adheres to our time-tested values of operating in an atmosphere of trust, integrity, and mutual respect."

Petty founded the Chattanooga office of Benjamin F. Edwards & Co. in 2011, and has worked in the financial services industry for 35 years. He has served as a regional manager and board member of Benjamin F. Edwards & Co. He currently serves as the Chattanooga office's branch manager.

 

Deborah Ballard joins CHI Center for Healthy Aging

CHI Memorial Center for Healthy Aging has added Deborah Ballard to its staff. She received her nursing degree from Emory University in Atlanta and her master's in nursing from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is board certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

CHI Memorial Center for Healthy Aging specializes in geriatric medicine. Providers focus on managing and treating complex age-related conditions including memory loss, fall and balance issues, and dementia-related behavioral problems, as well as primary care and social services to offer support to the whole family and provide access to community resources at the appropriate time.
