A year after buying the adjacent North Chattanooga boutique shops Alice Blue and Hanover Blue, Anita Oaks Headrick is opening a third shop in the same shopping center to offer a more funky, casual style of women's attire.

The new storefront known as the Electric Blue Collection will open Thursday in the space formerly occupied by Verde Boutique at 1100 Hixson Pike.

Headrick is debuting Electric Blue Collection as a "one-stop shop for jeans, Rock-N-Roll tees, charming dresses and edgy everyday pieces."

The new boutique shop is opening a year after Headrick bought Alice Blue and Hanover Blue in May 2018. Those stores have operated at the Riverview center since 2011.

Electric Blue will be the "wild child" of the family, Headrick said. Electric Blue's customer has classic style but isn't afraid to be funky, the store owner said.

"She's a little bit country and a little bit Rock-N-Roll," Headrick said. "Electric Blue is the style destination for trendsetters."

The new shop will mark its grand opening from 1-7 p.m. Thursday with giveaways, champagne and hors d'oeuvres, and a special look at the designers and collections that will be carried at the store.

A native of Corinth, Mississippi, Headrick said she grew up inspired by her mother's sophisticated and coordinated sense of style. In addition, her father was the owner of 'Roy's One Stop', which she says instilled in her the idea to be a destination for both men and women looking for quality fashion in Chattanooga.

Headrick said she worked for a medical device manufacturer early in her career to help support her husband - thoracic surgeon Dr. Rob Headrick - while he was in medical school

"This is the most fun of anything I have ever done," she said. "It's a lot of work and long hours, but I'm loving it."
