Herman Walldorf Commercial Real Estate welcomes Shelby Burr as the company's director of marketing and client communication. Burr will be responsible for client communication, driving new marketing efforts, designing new branded material and boosting online exposure for the company.

She comes to the Herman Walldorf team with experience with two of Chattanooga's most successful startups, Southtree and Bellhops.

"We were looking for someone who could improve the way we market real estate, helping us better understand and operate social media, excel at email marketing, and maximize exposure for our online listings," said Rudy Walldorf, President of Herman Walldorf Commercial Real Estate.

 

Chamber names Austin Corcoran as new talent manager

The Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce has promoted Austin Corcoran to talent attraction and retention manager.

Corcoran, who joined the Chamber last year, was previously member services coordinator, serving as a liaison between the Chattanooga Chamber and its 11 area Councils and International Business Council.

"Austin has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to providing top notch customer service. He is a passionate go-getter with innovative and creative ideas," said Molly Blankenship, vice president of talent initiatives at the Chattanooga Chamber.

In his new role, Corcoran will work closely with Young Professionals of Chattanooga and ChattaNewbies and support the Health Care Alliance working to build a strong talent pipeline for the local health care industry.

 

Cynthia Wilson awarded CFRE designation

CFRE International has named Cynthia Wilson, director of membership and development for Psi Chi, as a certified fund raising executive (CFRE). Wilson joins over 6,300 professionals around the world who hold the CFRE designation.

"The CFRE credential was created to identify for the public and employers those individuals who possess the knowledge, skills, and commitment to perform fundraising duties in an effective and ethical manner," said CFRE International President and CEO Eva E. Aldrich.

CFRE recipients are awarded certification for a three-year period.

 

Alexis Bogo joins SunTrust advisory bank board

Alexis Bogo, executive director of Hamico Inc. foundation, is the newest member of the Chattanooga Advisory Council for SunTrust Bank.

Bogo currently serves on the Baylor School board of trustees, the executive committee of the University of Chattanooga Foundation board and the University of Tennessee foundation board. Additionally, Bogo is a member of the board of directors of a local start-up company, Chattanooga Whiskey.

Bogo previously served as chair for the CHI Memorial Foundation, St. Peter's Episcopal School, and the Advancement Executive Committee of the Baylor School.

Bogo graduated from Southern Methodist University and holds experience in a variety of industries including sports marketing, consumer products, healthcare and education. She currently lives in South Chattanooga with her husband and son.

 

Siskin gets highest Medicare rating

Siskin Hospital's Subacute program has attained Medicare's highest rating, only one of two Chattanooga-area skilled facilities to have achieved this exceptional designation.

"We are thrilled to once again be recognized as a five-star provider," said Carol Sim, Siskin Hospital President and CEO. "It's a testament to the highest quality of care we seek to provide our patients."

The Five-Star Quality Rating System was created by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to make it easier for consumers, families and caregivers to compare skilled nursing facilities. This system gives each facility a rating of between one and five stars. According to CMS.gov, facilities with five stars "are considered to have much above average quality."

The Subacute program at Siskin Hospital West has 48 certified beds focused on rehabilitation.

 

Alexander T. Burroughs earns Oxford degree

Alexander T. Burroughs, financial advisor at Burroughs-Keasler Investment Partners has received his master's in finance and strategy from the prestigious Oxford University.

Burroughs has been a financial advisor with Burroughs-Keasler since 2012.
