Women's performance apparel retailer Athleta sprinted to a fast start in Chattanooga when the store opened two weeks ago.
"Over 40 people were lined up on opening day wanting to come in," said manager Mary Tobin. "People are already really familiar with the brand, and they're excited to have a store here."
The store also has locations in Nashville and Knoxville. The location at 2115 Gunbarrel Road in the Hamilton Corner opened Oct. 22.
The online retailer founded in 1998 has steadily expanded its footprint in brick-and-mortar stores since opening its flagship store in San Francisco in 2011. Gap-owned Athleta also launched an apparel brand for girls in 2016.
Last year, Athleta became one of the largest apparel companies in the world to earn B Corp Certification, which requires a holistic review of a business' social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency.
