What were the biggest new investments made in the Chattanooga area in 2020?

Biggest new investments in Chattanooga area in 2020:

1. McKee Foods Corp., expansion of snack and cookies production plant in Collegedale, $495 million addition projected to add 482 jobs.

2. Gestamp Corp., in its third expansion in the past decade, is planning to add 260 new jobs to its Chattanooga operations in a nearly $95 million expansion, much of which is to provide capacity related to electric vehicles.

3. Chattanooga-based Southern Champion Tray plans to invest nearly $85 million in a new manufacturing plant at Centre South Riverport where it will create more than 120 jobs.

4. The Dynamic Hotel Group in investing $49 million to build new TownePlace Suites by Marriott hotels in Hixson and East Ridge and an Element by Weston hotel near Hamilton Place mall.

5. Shaw Industries Group plans to spend $20 million to expand production of luxury vinyl tile flooring in its Ringgold, Georgia, plant, in the second of a three-phase expansion that will create about 55 new jobs at the factory.
