Excel Rehab & Sports has opened its fourth Chattanooga-area clinic with the addition of a new storefront off of Paul Huff Parkway in Cleveland, Tennessee.

The physical therapy provider, which began in Clemson, South Carolina in 2007 and expanded to the Chattanooga market in 2017, offers physical therapy for pain in a variety of areas such as low back and neck, shoulder, knee, hip, ankle, and arthritic joint symptoms. The clinics also offer post-surgical rehabilitation, including fracture repair, ACL reconstruction, total knee and joint replacement, rotator cuff repairs, neck and back surgeries, and more.

"I believe my purpose is to guide patients back to everyday activities, work and recreation while instilling a renewed confidence that they can continue to thrive in whatever brings them joy," said Ben McChesney, a Cleveland native and physical and occupational therapist who will lead the new office. "It is a privilege to come home and serve the Cleveland community."

Excel Rehab, which includes a total of seven facilities, added a clinic in Hixson in 2018 and another one in East Brainerd in 2020. The new Cleveland clinic is located at 862 Callen Lane, Suite 100, behind Harbor Freight.

In an announcement of the new office, Jeremy Shook, the Tennessee chief of physical therapy, said McChesney "brings a sense of home to the patients we serve and emphasizes the importance of the community-based therapy we provide."

Shook said the Cleveland expansion, like other clinics, came in response to patients' need for increased access to hands-on therapy, personalized care plans, and treatment techniques which he said are proven to get patients better, faster. Excel will offer a free 30-minute pain and performance screen, by appointment only, in the Cleveland clinic location through August 2022 to evaluate conditions first-hand.

Residents can request care through their physician's office or schedule an appointment directly at the Hixson, Northshore, East Brainerd, and now the Cleveland location by calling 423-254-5461 or visiting www.excelrehabsports.com and will be scheduled within 24 – 48 hours.
