Chattanooga is a city with a lot of history, and beginning Saturday, April 6, Improv Chattanooga will partner with Picnooga to explore this past in three new monthly shows, "Chattanooga's Secret History."

Using vintage photos provided by Picnooga, the cast of Improv Chattanooga will take the stage to explore the "real" story behind the pictures. Where it will lead, nobody knows - but laughs are guaranteed.

Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. at Improv Chattanooga, 1800 Rossville Ave., suite 118, for the 8 p.m. show.

"Chattanooga's Secret History" will be offered April 6, May 4 and June 1. Tickets are $8 general admission, $5 students.

A portion of proceeds from ticket sales for this show will support Picnooga and its mission to preserve the history of Chattanooga.

» Earlier Saturday night, the Early-Bird Stand-up Special will take place at 6 p.m. at Improv Chattanooga.

The early-bird show will feature Danny Whitson, a professional magician and stand-up comedian from Oak Ridge. For 15 years, Whitson has been entertaining people with cards, coins, ropes and anything else he can make disappear or crack a joke about.

He has performed with Kevin McDonald from the sketch comedy show "Kids in the Hall," for corporate events and was featured on Mental Floss.

Tickets are $10 for this show.
