Here's an art show and sale that benefits a purr-fectly good cause.

"Art's Meow" opens Friday, Aug. 2, with a wine reception from 5 to 8 p.m. in Exum Gallery inside St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 305 W. Seventh St.

"Art's Meow" is the signature fundraiser for The Alice Fund, a nonprofit that provides medical care and supplies for cats whose owners are in need of assistance. The fund was named in honor of a feral cat named Alice. So far this year, more than 250 cats have been helped by the Alice Fund, already more cases than were handled in total in 2018.

This art show features cat-themed and non-cat work from more than 30 area artists. The show will also include several boutique items such as home accents, scarves, fabric tote bags and custom pillows. All artists donate a portion of their sales to The Alice Fund.

"Art's Meow" will be on display 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Thursday through Aug. 25 in the gallery.
