'Little Shop of Horrors' opens in Dalton, Georgia

Dalton State College Department of Communication and Theatre will present "Little Shop of Horrors" in four performances, each at 7:30 p.m., beginning Wednesday, Nov. 20, through Saturday, Nov. 23.

Performances will take place in Goodroe Auditorium on the Dalton State campus, 650 College Drive in Dalton, Georgia.

Howard Ashman and Alan Menken (Disney's "The Little Mermaid," "Beauty and the Beast" and "Aladdin") are the creative geniuses behind this deviously delicious sci-fi musical that has become one of the most popular shows in the world.

When meek floral assistant Seymour Krelborn stumbles across a new breed of plant, he names it Audrey II after a co-worker on whom he has a crush. The foul-mouthed, R&B-singing carnivorous plant promises unending fame and fortune to the down-and-out Krelborn - as long as he keeps feeding it blood.

Over time, Seymour discovers Audrey II's out-of-this-world origins and intent to conquer the world.

Tickets start at $7. They can be purchased at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/little-shop-of-horrors-tickets-75881275939.
