A free reception on Friday, Jan. 10, will open the first exhibit of this year at the Creative Arts Guild.

The reception will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Guild, -- W. Waugh St. in Dalton, Georgia.

The exhibit features work by ART/DEV, a group of interdisciplinary experimentalists whose practice utilizes exploratory events that encourage participants to engage with an artistic medium such as creating, inventing, expressing and even reshaping their own experiences. Most often this guided play occurs around a theme such as sound, light, motion, or drawing.

Experimental artists Alex Cruishank and Heath Montgomery founded the group in 2014 as a way to continue their work following a collaborative art project. Andrew Rogers and Kit Buckley have also become ART/DEV collaborators, and many projects have taken shape over the past years as members of the group made theme proposals and led projects in which other members took part.

Art/Dev is a "digital playground," where creative and technical folks collaborate, make things, learn and have fun. All ages and skill levels are welcome. To learn more about the group and when it meets, click here.
