Arts at Erlanger brings performances to Medical Mall

Arts at Erlanger is hosting three, free performances in the coming week in Erlanger Medical Mall, which are open to the public.

* Thursday, Nov. 14, 11:30 a.m.: Agene Parsons plays hammered dulcimer with Evelyn Madewell on fiddle near the main information desk at Baroness Hospital..

* Friday, Nov. 15, 11:30 a.m.: Grace Notes, a flute, guitar and percussion trio that is an outreach of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, performs. Group leader and flautist Sandy Morris, guitarist Al Varnell and percussionist Gae Varnell will play Thanksgiving music, hymns and selections from the 1930s-70s. Grace Notes will perform in the breezeway by the main information desk in Erlanger Baroness Hospital.

* Thursday, Nov. 21, 11 a.m.: Three members of Chattanooga Ballet - Dillon Davis, Samantha Sole and Nena Widtfeldt, along with guest artist Megan Quiroz - will present a preview of the upcoming production of "The Nutcracker" in the Medical Mall.

Chattanooga Ballet's full production of the holiday classic will be Dec. 13-15 in the Tivoli Theatre.

These performances are hosted by the Arts at Erlanger committee, a volunteer organization that facilitates art-based therapy throughout the health system. The committee's mission is to provide reprieve for hospital patients and visitors who may draw comfort from a variety of art forms.
