Ooltewah's Beef O'Brady's restaurant, 5858 Snow Hill Road, will celebrate its eighth anniversary today, Dec. 15, with a little sleight of hand by local illusionist Jaden Maxwell and a helping hand for families affected by the devastating fires in Gatlinburg, Tenn.
Operator Tay Cochran will donate 10 percent of today's sales to Dolly Parton's My People Fund, which is providing Sevier County families who lost their homes with $1,000 a month for up to six months.
Cash donations also will be accepted for the fund. Maxwell, a Season 6 "America's Got Talent" contestant who has performed for celebrities including President George W. Bush, Beyonce and Anthony Hopkins, will entertain patrons at 5 p.m.
The restaurant is open 11 a.m.-10 p.m. today.
