Catch Frank Abagnale at Stratton Hall on Tuesday

Former con man and subject of film 'Catch Me If You Can' speaking on identity theft

If you've seen the Steven Spielberg film, "Catch Me If You Can," then you know who Frank Abagnale is.

Played by Leonardo DiCaprio in the movie, Abagnale is the former con man and identity thief who was pursued by the FBI, then eventually became a consultant to the FBI on fraudulent checks and how they are passed. He is now an American security consultant and an AARP Fraud Watch Ambassador.

AARP is sponsoring a visit by Abagnale to Chattanooga on Tuesday, Aug. 7, at Stratton Hall, 3146 Broad St. An Evening with Frank Abagnale will begin at 6:30 p.m. He will speak on how to protect yourself and your family from identity theft.

Admission is free, however space is limited so registration is requested.
