Karen Mills, Leanne Morgan and Trish Suhr are all professional comedians who individually tour the country performing at everything from county fairs to corporate events to comedy clubs.

They are all from the South and they are all close friends. So a couple of times a year they like to arrange their schedules so they can see each other. It doesn't hurt if they can get paid while visiting.

The Country Cool Comedy tour is the result of their collaborations, and it will make a stop Saturday night at the Walker Theatre.

"We like hanging out with each other," Morgan says. "I love them."

Suhr lives currently in California, where she is an actress, model, lifestyle expert and comedian. Morgan lives in Knoxville, where she gets a lot of her humor and stories about being a wife and mother from her family. Mills is a former basketball All-American at UTC who calls Chattanooga home.

Mills says the three will each do a 25-minute set, then the three friends will join each other onstage for more laughs.

"We all have different styles."

She points out that there are plenty of differences between how comedians work, their types of humor and their styles. For example, some comedians are funny and some write funny, she says.

"Leanne is funny. She can talk about going to the mailbox and have you in stitches. I write jokes. It's a setup and punch lines. It's the difference between a comedian and a comic. They say, 'A comic says funny things. A comedian says things funny. Leanne is a comedian. She can talk about anything and it's hilarious. I need material."

Morgan agrees.

"She [Mills] can look at a cotton ball and write something funny about it."

But, they share a lot of things as well.

"We talk about stories together on the road. We talk about being in an Applebee's late at night. We go through a lot together and we talk about those things."

Suhr says she is looking forward to seeing her friends again, but she is also happy to be returning to Chattanooga.

"Chattanooga is my favorite city," says Suhr. "The second I can get out of here, I'm [moving] there."
