Organizers are calling for Chattanooga-area residents to join them in the Chattanooga Women's March on Saturday, Jan. 20, at Coolidge Park, 200 River St. The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with the 1.8-mile march beginning at noon.

This march marks the anniversary of the inaugural Women's March held last year in Washington, D.C. It was a call to advocate legislation and policies about human rights, women's rights, immigration reform, health-care reform, reproductive rights, LGBT rights, racial equality and workers' rights.

As participants gather at Coolidge Park they will be entertained by Amber Fults at 11 a.m. Following an opening speaker, the wheelchair-accessible march will begin at noon, followed by more speakers and more entertainment at 1:30 p.m.

Volunteers and vendors are needed. Forms for both can be found online at www.chattanoogawomensmarch.com.

The march will be held rain or shine.
