The quest to find the best margarita in Chattanooga is on for Thursday, May 16, at the inaugural Chattanooga Margarita Festival in First Tennessee Pavilion.

Nineteen of the best restaurants in the city will bring their A game and best margarita recipe for guests to judge.

As of press time, competitors were Citron et Sel, Embargo 62, Stir, Wine Down, Poblanos, The Social, Matilda Midnight, 1885 Grill, Easy Bistro and Bar, Mexiville, El Meson, Taco Mamacita, The Foundry, Mayan Kitchen, Miller's Ale House, The Mad Priest Coffee & Cocktails, The Moxy, the Read House and La Fiesta Mexican Grill.

Food will be sold by Chick-N- Nooga and In Season food trucks. Keenan Daniels and MillionDollaMan will entertain.

The $34 ticket includes 12 sample- size margaritas. Not sure if you like your 'Rita stirred or frozen? Sip some samples to decide, then vote for a favorite by text. One restaurant will walk away with the title of the Best Margarita in Chattanooga.

Designated driver tickets are available with the promo code DD20 to receive $20 off the ticket price. Designated drivers will not be permitted to drink within the festival, including beer sold at the cash bar.

This party is for ages 21 and up. Hire a babysitter, leave the kids at home and come to the Southside for this 'Rita rodeo.
