UPDATE: The Lookouts have canceled their annual FanFest event out of an abundance of caution surrounding the coronavirus outbreak, according to a news release.

"The health and safety of our fans and staff is our number one priority," said Lookouts President Rich Mozingo in the release. "With that in mind we feel this is the right step at this time."

Season ticket and mini-plan holders will be able to pick up their 2020 tickets beginning on Monday, March 16 at 9 a.m.

The organization plans to hold some of FanFest's scheduled events, such as National Anthem Auditions at a later date. Updates can be found on the Lookouts social media channels and Lookouts.com.

Opening Day is set for Thursday, April 9 at AT&T Field and the Lookouts will be monitoring the situation going forward, according to the release.

ORIGINAL STORY: Is singing the national anthem at a ballgame on your bucket list?

If so, here's your chance.

The Lookouts will host national anthem auditions on Saturday, March 14, during the team's annual FanFest at AT&T Field, 201 Power Alley.

Open auditions will be held on a first-come, first-serve basis between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. All vocal performances must be a cappella and only traditional renditions of "The Star-Spangled Banner" will be considered for selection.

But you don't have to be a singer to enjoy FanFest. This free, rain-or-shine event features entertainment for the whole family ranging from ballpark tours to photo-ops with mascot Looie the Lookout.

Fans will have the chance to tour the stadium, take photos on the field, buy discounted team merchandise, check out the speed of their fastball, purchase game-used memorabilia in the clubhouse and take part in other games, giveaways and activities.

Fans who come out to FanFest will also be able to secure their seats for all 70 home games, including Used Car Night on Saturday, Aug. 1. Ticket packages, including mini-plans and season tickets, will be sold.

The Lookouts open their home season Thursday, April 9, against the Jackson Generals at 6:15 p.m.
