To wrap up their studies on the Civil War, Thrasher Elementary fifth-grade students invited the public to a living history museum. The drop-in event featured several small groups, with each performing as characters from the antebellum era and conveying what they had learned in regard to their characters and the war.
The event took place at McCoy Farm and Gardens, which the students visited prior during a field trip to learn how the mountain was affected by the war and what took place at and near McCoy property in that period, as well as the rest of property's history to date.
