After 40 years in the pest control industry - including 25 years as owner of Jody Millard Pest Control - Soddy-Daisy resident Jody Millard has become a household name in the Chattanooga area.
Millard has sold his pest control business, but he's now putting his name recognition and reputation for quality service to good use as co-owner of Jody Millard Heating & Cooling.
Business partner and longtime friend Gary Beene, of East Brainerd, has owned the Hixson-based cooling and air business for 35 years, and his five employees have all been with the business for at least two decades, he said.
Since the name was changed to Jody Millard Heating & Cooling in June, he said business has nearly doubled.
"It's just been a win-win situation for both of us," Millard said. "We're just excited to be doing this now, and we want to take care of our customers better than anybody else can take care of them."

The business has undergone other changes as well, including the addition of retail sales. Beene said he previously did mainly home warranty work, but they are now a dealer for Trane and York Heating and Cooling as well as a service provider for all brands of heating and cooling units.
Millard said the more than 100 years of combined experience held by the business's technicians and its low service charge of $29 set the business apart from other heating and cooling businesses.
"We just feel like we have some of the best technicians out there right now," Millard said. "With our pricing and our quality of work, we're just top-tier."
