Savor the season at Riverside Catfish

Prime patio dining season is back at Riverside Catfish House.

Riverside’s patrons are filling up on the delicious views offered by the restaurant’s stilted back deck. Perched above the steely river and tucked among the velvety mountains, the deck — now softened by end-of-summer light — offers 26 front-row seats to the scenes of Tennessee’s favorite season.

But Riverside’s menu offers much more than stunning scenery. Best-selling dishes include fried catfish fillets, hand-breaded fish bites and bone-in fingerlings — all as classic as the countryside.

The menu also boasts recipes such as shrimp or salmon prepared blackened, or with lemon pepper or Old Bay seasoning; as well as frog legs; burgers; homemade hush puppies; and more. There are six beers on tap: Coors Light, Bud Light, Miller Lite, Corona Light, Blue Moon and Angry Orchard. And, of course, there are scratch-made desserts — for example, Riverside’s buttermilk pie, rich and custard-like, with so much flavor that it never goes out of season.
