When Matt Soloff left Coyote Logistics to join Lync America in early 2016, the freight broker had only a few employees and Soloff recalls sitting in a big conference room in part of C&L Rentals' offices with operations vice president Keith Gray "all by ourselves."

To grow the business, Soloff suggested the company abandon its dress code and open up the office facility to help entice more brokers into the growing business. Cindy Lee, a veteran truck industry HR manager and founder of Lync, quickly agreed. Less than three years later, Lync has grown into one of America's fastest growing businesses with more than $11.5 million in sales last year, earning a spot on the Inc. list of the 5,000 fastest growing companies this year.

"It is crazy to see how much the hard work not only we have put in, but everyone who is a part of the Lync team has put in, come to fruition," Soloff says. "Lync has some big things in store for what we believe is going to separate us from the rest in the future."

Lee said she hopes to nearly triple sales this year to more than $30 million and double sales every year in the future. To accommodate the growth, Lee worked to transform the dingy conference room and office into a workspace that now includes space for 100 freight brokers, a food market by Five Star Food Service, and an employee relaxation space complete with a ping pong table, corn hole, and shuffleboard.

The office, which overlooks Interstate 24 at the end of 8th Avenue, is open and spacious to allow easy interaction among employees. But the extra, revamped space also is helping brokers reach out to more customers and accommodate Lync's team-based approach.

"The daily distractions have now become minimal due to noise reducing technology and added space," says Keith Gray, vice president of operations. "It has also given us room to expand as we continue to grow our business."
