While most businesses are focused on keeping data safe against digital threats from hackers and viruses, fewer pay attention to the physical dangers of storing their data on-site.

ioSafe built its brand since 2005 meeting the need for such physical security with "disaster-proof" servers. One of its latest products, the two-bay 218 model, provides network attached storage (NAS), which is especially attractive for those needing to backup their photographs with fireproof and waterproof security. The device features backup and replication of data and securely synchronizes data across PCs, Macs, iOS and Android devices and other NAS with either one-way or two-way syncing that supports file versioning, point-in-time recovery, compression and encryption.

Weighing 28 pounds, the ioSafe 28 offers plenty of durability and can even be bolted down to help theft-proof the whole setup. The 218 NAS protects data from temperatures up to 1550 Fahrenheit for 30 minutes and it's waterproof to protect data from floods, sprinklers and fire department's hoses. The 218 keeps data safe during periods of complete submersion in fresh or salt water up to a 10' depth for 72 hours.

The ioSafe 218 is powered by a Synology motherboard, uses the Synology DSM O/S and features a 2-Bay NAS. This model tops out at 24TB and the 5-bay versions can fit even more.
