Laura Fava is named vice president of operations for Steam Logistics. Having previously served as the director of enterprise responsible for Steam's contracted business, Fava plays a key role in growing and developing all operational functions at the Chattanooga-based international freight brokerage firm. Originally from Berlin, Germany, Laura joined Steam in 2016.
Marysol Thomas joins Vascular Institute of Chattanooga as nurse practitioner. Thomas, who is bilingual in English and Spanish, is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga before obtaining her Master of Science degree from Southern Adventist University. She is accredited as a family nurse practitioner by the American of Nurse Practitioners.
Emily Kate Boyd joins SoundCorps as the nonprofit's first development coordinator. She is responsible for building and executing the development plan, and implementing the information technology systems to support the charity's fundraising strategy. SoundCorps works to make Chattanooga a music mecca with a growing cultural economy.
Cardiologist Aditya Mandawat joins the staff of The Chattanooga Heart Institute at CHI Memorial. Dr. Mandawat received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University and completed a residency at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. In Durham, North Carolina, he completed cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowships at Duke University Hospital, a cardiovascular diseases research fellowship at Duke Clinical Research Institute, and an advanced cardiovascular imaging fellowship at Duke Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Center.
Amie Bowden joins Pinnacle Financial Partners' downtown Chattanooga office as as a financial advisor assistant. She most recently worked at Synovus Bank, where she was a senior commercial assistant. Prior roles were with Signature Bank of Georgia, where she was a commercial lending process manager, Bank of North Georgia where she served as a senior commercial assistant and Legacy Wealth Management Group, Inc, where she was director of client services.
Michael R. Baskette joins Plainview LED as sales manager. A Hixson resident and graduate of UTC, Baskette has spent his carer in fleet management, freight brokerage and logistics management for such companies as Crete Carrier Corp., D.M. Mendy Howard is the new resident services director for Legacy Village of Cleveland. Howard has been a licensed nurse for nine years and has worked in senior healthcare for 10 years at various skilled nursing facilities. Prior to her management positions, Howard worked as a CNA and a floor nurse.
Jim Exum joins Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel, P.C. in the firm's litigation and risk management practice groups with an emphasis on government and municipal litigation and domestic law. Exum holds a Municipal Technical Advisory Service certification, serves as the administrative hearing officer for multiple local municipalities, and represents a national police union working to protect the rights of first responders.

Stephen Greer, MD, a general surgeon with University Surgical Associates, joins the medical staff at Parkridge Medical Center. Dr. Greer specializes in general and advanced minimally invasive surgery, including robot-assisted techniques. After earning his medical degree from The University of Tennessee Health Science Center, in Memphis, Dr. Greer completed a general surgery internship and residency at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine Chattanooga, where he currently is also an instructor in the Department of Surgery. Dr. Greer is an active member of the American College of Surgeons, Chattanooga Hamilton County Medical Society, Southern Surgical Congress and the Tennessee Medical Association.
