* History: The Rug Rack was established in 2000 by Mike and Miriam Thompson in Chattanooga. Later evolving to offer more than just rugs, it is now known as The Rug Rack & Home Décor. Since its start in 2000, the business has provided a rug and home accessory shopping experience that includes education on product qualities and design assistance. In 2010, Mike and Miriam's daughter, Katie Thompson, joined the business and is now the acting store manager. This family owned and operated business is now in its 20th year.
* Products and Services: While the store sells primarily area rugs, it also offers unique home accents, wall art, window coverings and small furniture. Sourcing highly specific hand-knotted rugs in styles specifically for clients has become a large portion of the business model. Relationships have been established nationally and globally with some of the top manufacturers and importers. Miriam and Katie work collaboratively with clients to assess home and small business needs, considering design, lifestyle, and budget. Since 2015, the business has partnered with an acclaimed rug cleaning company in Atlanta that understands the different types of hand-knotted rugs and how each should be cleaned.

Whether the décor calls for a timeless classic style, modern chic, eclectic with a twist or authentic you, we are proud to be the only rug specialty store in Chattanooga.
