Jordan Smith advances into top 11 on 'The Voice'

As expected, Jordan Smith advanced into the top 11 singers on "The Voice" during Tuesday night's results show. His was the first named called by show host Carson Daley to move forward to next week's live playoffs.

The Lee University student's performance Monday night of "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" drew a standing ovation from the NBC show's audience and all four celebrity judges, then propelled him to No. 2 on iTunes' singles chart within an hour after the show's conclusion. By this morning he was No. 1 in downloads of his single, a spot he still held at the start of Tuesday's show.

NBC released the schedule for the remainder of "The Voice's" episodes on its website Nov. 16. This week and the next two weeks, one singer will be eliminated, leaving nine semifinalists to sing on Dec. 7. On Dec. 8, five artists will be eliminated, revealing the final four to sing for "The Voice" crown on Dec. 14.
