Visit the old Ooltewah Cemetery this week, and chances are, you'll see a ghost.

The cemetery's volunteer caretaker, Dick Wolfe, spent more than $1,500 of his own money decorating the grounds and gravestones for Halloween. There are plastic ghouls hanging from the trees, scarecrows staked into the ground, and pumpkin-shaped pails on top of headstones.

Wolfe has volunteered as the caretaker at the small community cemetery for more than 35 years. He owns a parcel of land there and, whenever he sells a plot, puts the money right back into the cemetery. Wolfe's latest sale funded the purchase of the Halloween decorations.

"It's not to honor Halloween or the devil or anything, it's just something I did," Wolfe said. "I think the Lord wanted me to come to make a cemetery for the whole community, so they would enjoy it and be proud of it when they buried somebody."
