Here's how Chattanooga restaurants and bars will be ringing in the new year, plus a couple of family-friendly parties

Want to ring in the new year with other revelers? Here's how some of Chattanooga's restaurants and bars will be celebrating Friday night.

- Bar Watson: 6925 Shallowford Road. Features DJ O and DJ Face, champagne toast, 7 p.m.-3 a.m., $15. 423-499-5055.

- The Blue Light: 43 Station St. Features DJ Ace Boogie, party favors, champagne, VIP sections available, 8 p.m.-3 a.m., $20. 423-468-1600.

- Bud's Sports Bar: 5751 Brainerd Road. Features the band Voodoo Slim, 8 p.m., $50 per couple. 423-499-9878.

- Chattanooga Convention Center: 1 Carter St. Features the Beaters, party favors, midnight ball drop, 8 p.m.-1 a.m., $45. 423-756-0001.

- The Comedy Catch: 29 Station St. Comedy by David Scott, a Guinness world record holder for longest stand-up comedy show by an individual, 7:30, $20, and 10 p.m., $36. Only the 10 o'clock show includes party favors, champagne toast and post-show dancing. 423-629-2233.

- The Dwell Hotel: 120 E. 10th St. "Aloha 2022"-themed party with the tiki bar, Night Pearl, taking over the hotel, one cocktail, champagne and food and drink specials, $30. 423-267-7866.

Family-friendly parties

— Creative Discovery Museum: 321 Chestnut St. Cheers to the New Year party, designed especially for children, includes a dance party, crafts and a balloon drop, 6-8 p.m. Thursday (not New Year’s Eve). $5 members, $10 nonmembers. 423-756-2738.— Southern Belle Riverboat: Choice of two dinner cruises through the Tennessee River Gorge. The two-hour early bird leaves at 4 p.m.; $60 adults, $30 children 3-12, $6 infants. Boarding for the later cruise, for ages 21 and older, begins at 8:30 p.m., following hors d’oeuvres at Pier 2. The three-hour cruise leaves at 9 p.m. and includes a DJ, pilothouse tours, party favors, souvenir wine glass, bottle of champagne and a cheese and charcuterie board per couple; $160. 423-266-4488.— Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum: The New Year’s Eve dinner train is virtually sold out (one opening left at press time).
