In a video posted to social media, Chattanooga native Leslie Jordan said he's had the services of a pronunciation coach as he prepares for a live presentation of this year's Oscar nominees Tuesday morning.

In the clip, the comic actor mispronounces pronunciation.

Jordan, whose latest project is "Call Me Kat," will join "Black-ish" actress Tracee Ellis Ross to announce the nominees on ABC's "Good Morning America." Their live segment, set to air at 8:18 a.m. EST, will include all 23 Academy Awards categories.

Some of the expected nominees could be tricky to an American tongue, not to mention Jordan's signature Southern drawl. Jordan became an Instagram sensation in 2020 when he began posting his humorous tales of life during quarantine, each prefaced by a twangy "How y'all doing?" He parlayed that success into a best-selling book and a gospel music album.

According to predictions made by reporter Glenn Whipp of the Los Angeles Times, likely Oscar contenders include Japanese film director Ryûsuke Hamaguchi ("Drive My Car"), Canadian director Denis Villeneuve ("Dune") and Irish actors Caitriona Balfe and Ciarán Hinds, both in supporting roles in "Belfast."

Should Jordan or Ellis Ross flub their lines, they'll be in good company. The internet is filled with examples of awards show blunders, some worse than a mispronounced name, though those are harmless enough to be shared for their entertainment value.

Snoop Dogg lit up social media in December when he announced the slate of Golden Globes nominees as if he were completely unfamiliar with the names, including calling "The Tender Bar" star Ben Affleck "Been Afflay." His mispronunciations were so pervasive, digital news site BuzzFeed suggested that "whoever had Snoop Dogg announce the Golden Globe nominations this morning deserves an award of their own."

At the 2014 Oscar ceremony, as Idina Menzel prepared to sing "Let It Go" from "Frozen," John Travolta introduced her as "the wickedly talented, one and only Adele Dazeem." That flub prompted Slate magazine to set up a digital Adele Dazeem Name Generator so that everyone could have their name "Travoltified."

The 94th Oscars will be broadcast at 8 p.m. EST Sunday, March 27, from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
