Chattanooga: Man ordered to strip then shot in the face with shotgun

A 38-year-old man managed to walk to a nearby apartment and call for help early this morning despite having been shot in the face by a shotgun.

Stanley Dean told police he was walking in an alley between apartments at 1325 Cypress Street Courts just before 2 a.m. when a man with a shotgun demanded his money, according to a Chattanooga police deparment news release.

The suspect, described as a black man 6 feet, 3 inches tall with a heavy build, told Mr. Dean to "remove all of his clothes and then shot him," the release stated.

The man took $300 from Mr. Dean and left.

Mr. Dean walked to a Grove Street apartment where he called police. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of nonlife threatening injuries.

The suspect was wearing a dark mask over his face and a dark hooded sweatshirt.
