Water restored at Red Bank apartment complex

Residents of a Red Bank apartment complex didn't have water for nearly 24 hours this week because the landlord hadn't paid the bill, a water company spokeswoman said today.

"We've been working with our customer, which is the landlord, and unfortunately the tenants are the ones who suffer through it," Tennessee American Water Co. spokeswoman Kim Dalton said.

The water service to Cambridge Park Apartments, at 621 Memorial Drive off of Dayton Boulevard, was turned off at 11 a.m. Wednesday and back on at 10:49 a.m. today, Ms. Dalton said.

Ms. Dalton said the company had worked with the landlord, whose name she could not release, for a few months and signed a notarized payment agreement in late December that "was broken yesterday."

She said the landlord had called this morning and agreed to make a payment today.

The landlord, identified as Andy Williams, could not be reached this morning for comment.

Ms. Dalton said the water company also has been working with the city of Red Bank on plumbing code violations at the complex.
