Chattanooga man charged in Walker County with homicide by vehicle

A Chattanooga man has been arrested and charged with homicide by vehicle in connection with a September crash.

Kurtis Montgomery, 27, was booked in the Walker County Jail today after an investigation showed he hit Adam Guthrie, 27, and killed him on Sept. 25, according to a Walker County Sheriff's Office news release.

He was charged with homicide by vehicle, a first-degree felony charge, Sheriff Steve Wilson said in the release.

In September, deputies found Guthrie dead near a wooded area off Highway 157, Lookout Mountain, Wilson said.

According to reports, alcohol was a contributing factor in the wreck, the sheriff said.
