Chattanooga police are searching for a man this afternoon who went on the Volkswagen plant property possibly armed with a gun.

Two people were arrested in helping the man escape, according to company officials.

The man had a disagreement with the company and came back armed to the location at 8001 Volkswagen Drive, just after noon according to police. The dispute began Thursday at a different location, according to police.

Volkswagen issued a statement that Chattanooga police had been at their site to "arrest a person of interest."

A company statement said that because of the "possibility the subject was armed, police took precautions to insure the safety of our employees and suppliers."

Investigators continue to search for the suspect.

No injuries were reported in the incidents.
