As the weather cools, chunky knits and relaxed layers are a girl's best friend. "From sweaters to dresses to 'coatigans,' knits are perfect for cold weather comfort," says Yacoubian Tailors buyer Ani Yacoubian.
MAD ABOUT PLAID
Plaid isn't just a staple for schoolgirls and lumberjacks anymore. Amp up your office fashion with a plaid pencil skirt or channel your inner '90s alt-rock star with a flannel shirt tied around your waist to take this trend street style.
ANKLE STRAPS & BUCKLES
Runway alert! Ankle fasteners were in full force on the catwalks as designers dressed-up stilettos, pumps and flats with these edgy straps and buckles, says Terri Holley, owner of Embellish Shoes.
OVERALLS
We know what you're thinking- overalls? But these aren't the Winnie the Poohembroidered monstrosities of yesteryear, these are a style revival that you should definitely consider. "We have a great black pair from Rag & Bone with side zips just in for fall that look adorable styled with a white tank or tee and worn rolled up with booties," says Hagaman. "Such a fun and different way to look put together yet laid back."

There is no better item of clothing, in my opinion, than a great, broken-in jean jacket in a great wash," says Hagaman. "I have a hard time finding things in my closet that won't look great with my beloved, holy jean jacket."
